"OUR VERY FIRST HAIRSTYLE FOR 2014"

"ZIPPER BRAID INTO
SIDE PONYTAIL"

http://samsprettyhairstyles.blogspot.com/

Happy New Year, 2014, to all!!

It has been a while since I wrote here on my blog due to some events. Two things: the death of my husband (June 2013) and the opening of my Online Bakeshop (December 2013)
MRS_Sweets.

Anyways, here is our very FIRST HAIRSTYLE FOR 2014, inspired from Cute Girls Hairstyles, and we call it the:
"ZIPPER BRAID INTO SIDE PONYTAIL"!

This is the original hairstyle posted by Mindy of Cute Girls Hairstyles, they call it the "Zipper Braid" #CGHZipperBraid:

In the original, Mindy ended this hairstyle in a "Braided Bun". I opted to end ours in a simple "Side Ponytail". Here are some more of our pics of this cute hairstyle:

"THROWBACK THURSDAY: FUN EASTER-THEMED HAIRSTYLE!!"

This is a RE-POST from my old blog........

"It's Easter Sunday!! And kids love this day because of the Easter Egg Hunt events! But, most of all we should remember that on this day our Lord has risen again.

Just to join the fun of it, we re-created a hairstyle we saw on CUTE GIRLS HAIRSTYLES. It is literally an "Easter Egg Hairstyle" because you are going to use cute colorful plastic eggs in order to do this hairstyle. See my pic below:

It is so easy to do!!! And all you need are elastics, ribbons, and those cute, colorful plastic eggs.

First, all you have to do is part your daughter's hair from top to bottom to make 2 ponies or pigtails. Tie them first with a black elastic.

Now on the first ponytail, divide it into 4 equal parts. Each part you will braid normally (simple 3-strand braids), and tie the ends with different colored elastics. Do the same thing on the other half pony.

Now, wrap an elastic around the braids about an inch or 2 below the top elastic. Once you tied them already, you can insert one colored Easter egg. Just adjust the tightness of the elastics below the egg. For additional security, wrap another elastic in the middle of the egg/braid.  Do another of this set and then you can tie the ends with an elastic or ribbon. Then do the same on the other pony tail. See pic below for reference:

You can add your fave colored ribbon to add some spice and fun to this hairstyle. You can add the ribbon on top or at the bottom of the pony tails.

And that's it!! I hope you guys try it. Happy Easter!!"

"More Hunger Games-Inspired Hairstyles"

The movie The Hunger Games shown last 2012 became so popular because of the characters' hairstyles!! Katniss Everdeen and Primrose Everdeen's braided hairstyles.

A lot of my fave hair blogs are posting tutorials of these 3 different hairstyles from the movie. It was from at CUTE GIRLS HAIRSTYLES that i learned these 3 hairstyles.

This is the first look i re-created based on Katniss Everdeen's  hairstyle in the arena:

And this is Primrose Everdeen's braided hairstyle in the movie:

And lastly, another Katniss Everdeen hairstyle. They call this one the "reaping braid" based on one of the scenes in the movie:

You can check out these video tutorial links if you want to try these hairstyles from Cute Girls Hairstyles:

"5 DAYS OF HAIR BOWS"

This week, it was all about "HAIR BOWS". And we both had a lot of fun doing it. We got lots of nice compliments too.

We started doing the Hair Bow Braid hairstyle last Tuesday and since we got some nice compliments from that hairstyle, we decided to do the "5-Days of Hair Bows".

DAY 1: "HAIR BOW BRAIDS"

Last Tuesday i did this hairstyle to my daughter after I saw these neat trick Girly Do Hairstyles shared on how to achieve the bows much easier. You can check that video by clicking this LINK. Here are some more of the pics up close:

DAY 2: "PIGTAILS WITH HAIR BOW ACCENTS"

After getting nice compliments from Day 1's hairstyle, we did another hair bow hairstyle. This one is much easier to do. All you have to do is make a very low pig tails. Grab a small section from the top of the pigtail, and create your bow using an elastic band. You can check out Cute Girls Hairstyles for the video on making this bow. Their version is doing this bow in a low side ponytail. Here are some more pics of this hairstyle up close:

DAY 3: "DRAGONFLY BOW BRAIDS"

This hairstyle clearly speaks for itself! It does look like a "dragonfly"!! I created this one by accident. We ran out of time last Thursday on finishing a 2 sided Hair Bow Braids. I only finished one side with only 2 bows. Then i just gathered all the remaining hair into a side ponytail. As we were taking the pictures, we instantly thought that it looked like a dragonfly!! Here are some more of the pics:

DAY 4: "UPSIDE DOWN DUTCH BRAIDS & A BOW"

Inspired from the "Lady Gaga" hair bow. I started this hairstyle by making an upside down dutch braid. I braided my daughter's hair while sitting with her head faced down. I braided it only halfway through. Then tied the rest of the hair into a high ponytail. From there you can create the "Lady Gaga hair bow". More pics here:

DAY 5: "RIBBON BOW HALF PONY"

This one is so pretty and very girly. It is like a pretty ribbon/bow on top of a cute gift. Just section your hair from ear to ear and tie them into a half pony tail. From there you can now make your ribbon bow. Or you can check out BEBEXO's Video Tutorial on this ribbon bow. By the way i didn't used any hair spray on my daughter's hair. It's all bobby pins and i did this while her hair is a bit damp. Plus, the tails of this ribbon bow i just curled using my forefingers.

And that's it!! Our "5-DAYS OF HAIR BOWS" hair challenge! Wow! I feel so good after accomplishing this challenge i did for myself. I hope you guys like what i did here. You can check these pics also on our following accounts (and please, do follow & like us there too):

Remember guys, "If I can do these hairstyles, so can you!"
Just put your heart, passion & interest on it and in a few tries you will be able to do them, too. And this is one good way to bond with your pretty daughter/s too!

Happy Hair Styling everyone!
